St. Joseph's Hospital-Kitgum is a private-not-for-profit (PNFP) Hospital owned by Gulu Archdiocese and it is accredited by Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB). The Hospital is located 3km away from the town center, North East of Kitgum Town, Pongdwongo Parish, Kitgum Municipal Council.

1. Title:                Medical Officer

Post:                Two (2)

Duty station:    St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum                              

Report to:         Medical Superintendent

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or its equivalent from a recognized University
  2. Must be registered with allied health professional
  3. One year (1) or more Post internship work experience in Hospital Setting
  4. Effective interpersonal skills-Oral and written communication skills
  5. Computer Literacy/Skills
  6. Be in position to work with minimum supervision.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To participate in diagnosis, treatment and proper management of patients
  2. To liaise with other Cadres in the hospital in the delivery of quality health care to patients.
  3. To participate in planning and budgeting for the hospital
  4. To participate in assessing health staff performance of the hospital and the completion of their annual confidential report.
  5. To participate in ensuring that staff adheres to professional code of conduct.
  6. To compiled periodic reports and submit to medical superintendent.
  7. To participate in research activities
  8. To attend relevant meetings and workshop
  1. Managing and accounting for allocated resources
  2. Adhering to professional code of conduct
  3. Carry any other duties that may be signed by Supervisor/management.

2. Title:                Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Post:                One (1)

Duty station:    St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum

Report to:         Medical Superintendent.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have a Bachelor Degree in Statistic, Quantitative Economics and related Courses or its equivalent from a recognize institution of learning
  2. Three years (3) or more works experience in relevant field.
  3. Effective interpersonal skills-Oral and written communication skills
  4. Computer Literacy/Skills
  5. Be in position to work with minimum supervision.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To provide expertise M&E planning and methodology to compute all the necessary data, maintain records and prepare periodic reports.
  2. Determine performance indicators and target for all the activities
  3. Supervises records staff and make sure that the record department is kept clean; documents are filed and well arranged.
  4. Determine data analysis procedures and use of quantitative or qualitative analysis tools.
  5. Develop monthly, quarterly or annual reports and submit the approved reports to the District Health Office, UCMB, MoH and other organization.
  6. Participate in entering data concerning patients in computer and ensure software data maintenance.
  7. Show all reports to Medical Superintendent for approval before submission to various stakeholders
  8. Lead external evaluation teams, summarize findings and disseminate the evaluation findings to management.
  9. Develop and maintain documentation index for all files of patients
  10. Managing and accounting for allocated resources
  11. Adhering to professional code of conduct
  12. Carry any other duties that may be signed by Supervisor/management.

Report to:         Ward In-Charge/Senior Nursing Officer

 

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have a Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent from a recognize institution of learning
  2. More than One (1) year work experience in Hospital setting.
  3. Should be registered by Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
  4. Effective interpersonal skills-Oral and written communication skills
  5. Computer Literacy/Skills
  6. Be in position to work with minimum supervision.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To provide nursing services and public health intervention to patients.
  2. Receiving patients, register admission, discharge and death
  3. Liaise with ward management in ensuring that patient’s investigation are properly done, recorded and stored.
  4. To make appropriate achievable plans for the unit and ensure that supplies are available and stock level maintained.
  5. Keeping patients comfortable and ensuring a healthy environment
  6. Participating in bed side procedures as a member of the carrying team
  7. Managing and accounting for allocated resources
  8. Participating in research activities
  9. Compiling and submitting periodic report.
  10. Imparting knowledge and skill to students and staff
  11. Adhering to professional code of conduct
  12. Carry any other duties that may be signed.
